QRAPS is an electronic product reliability specialist founded in 2005 by engineers who had spent their careers working with circuits. From our head office and research and test laboratory in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, we carry out testing, analysis and research as a KOLAS-accredited testing laboratory (accreditation No. KT609). On this blog we share information on reliability testing and circuit design verification.

One field only: circuit reliability
Electronic products keep getting denser and more modular, with several technologies combined in a single device, while development schedules shrink and leave less room for thorough verification. Our engineers check and verify new component selection, interface tolerances and stability under real operating conditions at the design stage, reducing our clients' cost of failure.
Since our founding in 2005 we have worked in one field: circuit reliability. Starting from automotive electronics, our work has grown to cover home appliances, industrial control, medical devices and defence.
From design verification to accredited testing — eight services
Our services fall into two groups: Design Verification and Reliability Testing.
| Group | Service | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Design Verification | Circuit Design Verification | Pre-production review of schematics and PCB layouts (DRC, netlist, thermal design, BOM optimisation) |
| Design Verification | Component Suitability Verification | Component selection and margin measurement under real operating conditions, alternative parts and supply chain risk |
| Design Verification | Board Stability Verification | Electrical margin, heat, interfaces and long-term reliability of assembled boards |
| Design Verification | Field Failure Analysis | Identifying failure mechanisms (EOS, ESD, dendrites) and design guidance to prevent recurrence |
| Reliability Testing | AEC-Q200 Testing | Standard tests and reports for automotive passive components |
| Reliability Testing | ES Testing (Electrical Stress) | ESD, EFT/burst, surge, impulse, voltage dip, car surge |
| Reliability Testing | Accelerated Life Testing | Acceleration conditions designed for each product, with life prediction |
| Reliability Testing | Environmental Reliability Testing | Temperature/humidity, thermal shock, salt spray, gas corrosion, vibration, shock (accredited reports for KOLAS-accredited items) |
Our own test and analysis equipment
- Environmental testing — large chambers (ESPEC EBL-4HW6P4C-22 · EBL-2HW6P3), temperature and humidity chambers (ESPEC ARS-1100 and 8 more units), thermal shock chambers (VOTSCH VT 7012 S2 and 2 more units), HAST chambers (ESPEC EHS-211M · TPC-412M), gas corrosion tester (WEISS WK3-340/70C), salt spray tester (Advantest SST-900)
- Mechanical testing — combined vibration tester (THERMOTRON DS-640-911-24), tensile tester (Daekyung DUT-200BM)
- Failure analysis — SEM (JEOL JSM-6010PLUS/LV), SAM (SONOSCAN D9600), X-ray (NIKON XTV 160), curve tracer (Advantest 370B), optical microscope (HISCOPE S26146), thermal imaging camera (FLIR-T425)
- Electrical stress — ESD simulator, EFT/surge generator, noise tester, vehicle power transient simulator
In May 2024 we established our failure analysis laboratory with SEM, SAM and X-ray.
Certifications, patents and research
- Six certifications — KOLAS-accredited testing laboratory (Korean Agency for Technology and Standards, KT609), Corporate R&D Institute (Korea Industrial Technology Association), Reliability Voucher provider (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), R&D Infrastructure Programme operator (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), Technology Commercialisation Capacity Building (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), Export Voucher provider (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy)
- Accredited field — electrical reliability environmental testing, plus the MIL-STD-810G climatic category (June 2020). The detailed scope follows the annex to the accreditation certificate.
- Seven registered patents — in circuit verification and life prediction. The most recent, registered in August 2026, is the "AI-based circuit design verification platform" (Patent No. 10-3003842).
- Research papers — accelerated life evaluation of K2 tank electronics (co-authored with Hyundai Rotem) and a paper at EVS37, the International Electric Vehicle Symposium (2024, co-authored with Hyundai Mobis)
Our clients
We have worked with Hyundai Mobis, SK Telecom, Golfzon, Hyundai Kefico, KETI, Samsung Heavy Industries, KIRIA, Woory Industrial, Kyowon Group, TK Elevator Korea, ALPINION Medical Systems, CJ 4DPLEX, CESCO, Hyundai Rotem, KD Navien and Autoliv. Between 2019 and 2025 we verified the circuit designs of 64 models of next-generation products, identifying design issues before release. See Clients & Partners for our references.
How a test request works
- Enquiry — Leave your test type and product details in the Contact Us form, or call +82-32-326-0213 or e-mail chkim@qraps.co.kr.
- Consultation — Our engineer agrees the test items, conditions, schedule and quotation with you. For products without a defined standard, we analyse the real operating environment and expected failure modes and design the test conditions and pass criteria.
- Receipt — Once the details are agreed, the request is formally received and your engineer gives you a receipt number.
- Progress — Enter your company name and receipt number on the Test Status page to see the status of each test.
Frequently asked questions
Q. Can I receive a KOLAS accredited test report?
We issue accredited reports for items within our accredited scope; tests outside that scope are issued as standard reports. We will confirm during consultation whether your items fall within the scope.
Q. How much does testing cost and how long does it take?
It depends on the product, the test items, the number of samples and the test conditions, so we cannot quote a single figure. Tell us about your product and the tests you need, and we will provide a quotation and an expected schedule during consultation.
Q. Can I visit for a consultation or observe a test?
Yes. Our office hours are weekdays 09:00 – 18:00 (lunch break 12:00 – 13:00). Please contact us in advance and we will arrange a time.
